<p class="MsoNormal">Hello!<br>
<br>
I volunteer at my church, and my pastor has asked for my help in finding the
right projection/Sunday service management system. We're currently undergoing a
redevelopment and the idea was to make sure we have the best system to use to
run Sunday services. In the past we've been using OpenLP (I'm not sure what
version, 1.something) on a PC. However, we are going to be moving to Macs once
we're back in the church, and as I'm not familiar with Macs at all, I
find myself needing some help.<br>
<br>
I'm looking to get the opinions and feelings of those who've used OpenLP on
Mac, how easy it is to use, what the problems are, what things don't work (I've
already noticed that the Presentation function doesn't work on a Mac). None of
our multimedia people are very familiar with Macs, so I really need to find
something that will be user-friendly as we're working with machines none of us
know very well.<br>
<br>
I also had a specific question about the Presentation feature - I've read the
user guide and if I'm reading it right, I understand it means that if for
example, your speaker has a powerpoint presentation made up for their sermon,
you can use OpenLP to open and run the presentation (meaning you don't have to
worry about jumping between multiple programs, which has been a problem for us
in the past). I realise this function doesn't work on a Mac, I just need to
fully understand what it is and what it does, so I can understand whether its
absence will be a problem for us. Is there any reason why a sermon slide-show can't
simply be incorporated directly into the OpenLP slideshow itself?<br>
<br>
We are also interested in a program that will allow us to consolodate contacts
for people on the team, roster them on and send out emails to let them know
when they are on. At present, we are using an online program called Planning
Center that has the ability to send out bulk emails to advice people of when
they're on. I would prefer however, to use just the one program that allows us
to do everything without spreading across multiple programs. It just gets too
confusing, and at the moment, I'm the only person in my church who really knows
how to use everything. I would like to stop being that one person!<br>
<br>
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Our multimedia team is
familiar with the older version of OpenLP, but I suspect we haven't been using
it to it's full ability. I'd like to know what I'm missing so I can see if this
new version will work for us.<br>
<br>
Thank you<br>
