It's possible that if you supply somebody here with a sample Mission Praise RTF file, they can tweak one of the importers (probably the Songs of Fellowship one) to work, particularly if Collins have started making digital versions available with their latest MP version. As I said, as I use OpenLP on a Mac, I haven't got access to all the importers (including the SoF one), otherwise I'd offer to do it myself - even if my coding skills are minimal!

My opinion on the copyright is that if both you and the source have an appropriate CCLI licence and that the songs are recorded correctly in the CCLI CopyReport software, then then it is probably okay, particularly as hymnbook publishers now supply songs digitally themselves.

The fact that just because a song is published doesn't mean it's automatically covered by CCLI is a common misconception it seems, and one I've had many discussions with people in my own church(es) about! Thankfully, when I temporarily left my current church when I went to University, the responsibility for completing our CopyReport stats is no longer mine to worry about!

I would imagine that the response you get from Collins will be along the lines that they don't control the copyright for the content of what they publish, only the actual printed version, and they'll point you in CCLI's direction.

(Hymn book publishers aren't covered by a CCLI licence themselves, and they have to contact each copyright administrator directly for permission to publish. I would imagine that Collins have some sort of arrangement to publish songs in Mission Praise; if you ever pick up a copy of Songs of Fellowship, take a look and see how many songs are 'Thankyou Music' songs - same publisher (was Kingsway, now Integrity)!).
