Worship team received gift of new PC laptop and Playback HD after attendee went to Seminars4Worship and liked what she saw. (wall to wall "mood" projection) They used 2 systems. One system was the standard in house lyrics on left/right screens. The "traveling system" was 3 huge projectors, 1 left wall, 1 right wall, and 1 rear projection on a full stage center screen. They used TriplewideMedia and a $150 box to give a seamless "surround visual". All were Mac based. The general idea was to bring the person in the pew in to the experience. EWS (our church) is currently running MediaShout on PC with left/right projectors. Sometimes we run a DVD player to a center projector/screen. This "gift" is replacing the DVD player. I'm exploring setup options. 1. Exchange laptop for desktop? (more bang for the buck) 2. Load Mediashout (no learning curve since we use it already) or something else like OpenLP? 3. Is OpenLP stout enough to sequence and play videos? I'm looking for ideas on how to use this new gear. The donor understands that this is not going to be wall to wall projection, but a replacement for the DVD player along with some content on the Playback HD. If I should post elsewhere please point me in that direction. Thanks in advance. ps is there a demo/tutorial for OpenLP? I'm really slow when it comes to learning new software but love this idea!
