I'm using OpenLP under Ubuntu 10.10, the latest developer releases from the PPA.

A bit over a week ago, OpenLP started to fail to start.

The most recent couple of versions have managed to get the splash screen up but then nothing.

I tried starting from a console but no error messages came up. So then I ran it with logging set to "debug" and got the following (this is just the end of the file- I can post the whole lot if it is helpful)

root ERROR Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/openlp", line 253, in <module> main() File "/usr/bin/openlp", line 247, in main sys.exit(app.run()) File "/usr/bin/openlp", line 119, in run self.arguments()) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/core/ui/mainwindow.py", line 606, in init self.pluginManager.find_plugins(pluginpath, self.pluginHelpers) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/core/lib/pluginmanager.py", line 102, in find_plugins plugin = p(plugin_helpers) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/plugins/custom/customplugin.py", line 54, in init self.edit_custom_form = EditCustomForm(self) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/plugins/custom/forms/editcustomform.py", line 54, in init self.editSlideForm = EditCustomSlideForm(self) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/plugins/custom/forms/editcustomslideform.py", line 45, in init self.setupUi(self) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/plugins/custom/forms/editcustomslidedialog.py", line 37, in setupUi self.slideTextEdit = SpellTextEdit(self) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/openlp/core/lib/spelltextedit.py", line 52, in init self.dictionary = enchant.Dict(u'en_US') File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/enchant/init.py", line 475, in init self.switch_this(broker.request_dict_data(tag),broker) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/enchant/init.py", line 260, in request_dict_data self.raise_error(eStr % (tag,),DictNotFoundError) File "/usr/lib/pymodules/python2.6/enchant/init.py", line 215, in _raise_error raise eclass(default)DictNotFoundError: Dictionary for language 'en_US' could not be foundNone

If it helps the version number is reported as version 1.9.5 build bzr1448

It would seem to me that the problem is related to the fact that it is looking for a particular spelling dictionary that people outside the US may not have installed.
