Lots of frustrated users are having problems with lack of video in 1.9.6 and personally, I have been beating my head trying to figure this one out. I have 1.2 running side by side of 1.9.6 and video works great in 1.2 but has a black screen with audio in 1.9.6. The only thing I can think of is that it must have something to do with FFDSHOW and/or PHONON. At the elementary school, I have XP Codec Pack installed along with VLC and have only been able to get video working ONE time. When the computer rebooted, no video.... only audio. So, I know it CAN work. I just need to find the correct FFDSHOW settings for OpenLP. With that said, my work computer has never had a problem with video and I installed OLP1.9.6 for troubleshooting the school's computer (trying to find the best settings) and have even tried to break it without luck. Now, on my work machine I have installed the Combined Community Codec Pack from http://www.cccp-project.net/ along with VLC. Still not sure if the CCCPack has any bearing on why my work machine plays so much better with video than the school machine but I am going to uninstall everything on the school machine then put CCCPack on it and see what happens. I will let you all know the outcome within the next few days. What is also odd, is that video plays well on my work machine regardless if I have PHONON checked or not. On the school machine, if I check PHONON, I get a slim vertical black line in the middle of the screen with sound and the global theme in the background. When I uncheck PHONON, I only get the global theme and sound.

I would be curious to know how others are fairing with video in 1.9.6 other than using VLC to play video in the selected monitor. I am pumping signal from a Radeon 9200 out of the RCA jack into a BlonderTongue modulator over the schools CCTV system on a non-used cable TV channel for our morning news show. This allows us to use green screen technology as well as play videos as needed. OpenLP is the only app that I could find that does everything we need without any fees. We have no budget at all and everything the kids have has come out of my pocket and has been donated by the local government (computer & monitor). We couldn't do our show without OpenLP's simplicity for the kids. Thanks guys!
