elfinspectre
Is there a way to import a substantial Zionworx database with a minimum of fuss, please?

GrayFrost

Hello,

I followed the guide here - http://wiki.openlp.org/Development:ZionWorx-Song_Data_Format - when I moved across our database (2000 songs). For most of the guide it worked well although I did encounter some problems with the csv import as it was coming out it the incorrect format (and there were some characters in it that OpenLP didn't like when importing).

I can't remember exactly what I did but if you give it a go and post back any problems then I'll see if it rings a bell. If I get a chance I'll take a look tonight and see if I can remember what I had to do different.

Hope that helps

Jack

MrGamgee
I haven't done this myself but sab478 seems to have had success here: http://openlp.org/en/forums/openlp-20/general-discussion/database-format-importing-zionworx-database#comment-2559

He seems to suggest that the wiki link supplied above by GrayFrost will work fine for importing Zionworx into OpenLP 1.2.x. Thus the suggested 2-step solution: download openlp 1.2.x and import your Zionworx database. Then install OpenLP 2.0 (1.2 and 2.0 can be installed side by side) and import your v1.2 db into that.

MrGamgee
Brian

I've written a small one-click (well almost!) ZionWorx Export utility you might find helpful:

http://samfindlay.wordpress.com/zionworx-export/

It exports your ZionWorx songs database as OpenLyrics files, which can then be imported into OpenLP 2.0 (File>Import>Song).

Sam
