I am having trouble getting Openlp 2 started on Kubuntu 12.04. System is updated.
# uname -a
Linux david-Latitude-D630 3.2.0-18-generic #29-Ubuntu SMP Fri Mar 9 21:36:08 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
# openlp -l debug
I presume you have LibreOffice installed? Have you tried leaving OpenLP for a couple of minutes?
Libreoffice is installed yes.
Yes, I have even rebooted the PC several times. Nothing works
Can you make sure you have the "python-uno" package installed? It looks like OpenLP is stopping after trying to connect to LibreOffice. Why this is a problem, I don't know.
Also, can you run OpenLP from the command line and tell us if you have any output on the command line?
I belive this is caused by bug 902115 in Launchpad (https://bugs.launchpad.net/openlp/+bug/902115).
It's a bug in the code for LibreOffice Impress in the Presentations plugin. It has been fixed in 1.9.9 which is coming out soon. In the mean time you can work around the issue by disabling the presentations plugin with the following method.
Just open up ~/.config/OpenLP/OpenLP.conf
Then find the line that says
Then change the line below it that says
Reply back here to tell us if this fixed it, or if it's still broken.
Thanks a lot! Setting the presentation status to 0 worked like a charm.
I can confirm that this bug is fixed on Kubuntu 12.04 64-bit.
