Just curious if openlp supports animated gifs?
I didn'y know anyone still used those. The graphics quality is poor in that GIF format only supports 256 colours, the number of images is small, so the loop is very short and there was a real controversy a number of years ago, because of ownership/licensing of the GIF format. It was a very good format in the days where 56kbps was considered an insanely high speed. Those days are long gone, and the only person I know that still uses dialup is because high speed isn't available in their neighbourhood.
It doesn't have to be GIF, I was just wondering if OpenLP supported animated graphics. GIF is the only animated graphic format that I'm aware of besides APNG which OpenLP does not support. Any suggestions on how to use an animated graphic rather than just giving me a lesson on the GIF format?
I'm with MrMathew on this one. I too would wish/hope/pray for animated gif support. The reason? To have a non-static image in the background to keep our brain dead overhead projector from deciding to go into 'sleep' mode because of display inactivity. The issue isn't the projector, though; I'm just sayin' I'd like to see animated gif support if it could be squeezed in.
I actually would prefer looping video backgrounds instead, this gives you way better quality and possibilities. And if you really need your gifs you can convert these to video yourself.
