Perl and Python are very powerful, but simple scripting languages, these days, pretty much any programmer should have one or the other in their toolbox, another thing that should be in your toolbox is C, yup, plain old C. I mention Perl because DBD/DBI (the Perl Database Driver) is what ODBC should have been. A thin layer that translates between native language and database calls.

There should be an SQLite ODBC driver, which should solve the problem, you really need the SQLite browser as well, so you know what your looking at. One issue though, when you look at the song text, it's in XML format, so you need a database with a couple of songs in it, to get that format right.

Another option, is to find an intermediate, plain text format, one of the simplest is the USR format that is used by SongSelect from CCLI. If you don't have song select, PM me your email address, and I will send you a sample. Then you use the song importer to import the songs. You will need to assign theme, and song book/number, but if you use a default theme, you can get away with it, until you get them all fixed up.
