Information about .OSZ file

We have developing worship-songs (Android) mobile app. We released 1.0.1 which is available in play store. In this app we have using OplenLP database schema. OpenLp have service feature. We have plan to provide the same service support in our mobile app. So we would like to understand OSZ file.  I google about OSZ but could not find right information. Do you have any document regarding OSZ file ?

Hi Madasamy,

The osz is simply a zip file which contains a osj-file (in json-format) which describes the saved service and contains text-based slides (songs, bible, custom), and if any media (video, audio, images) or presentations (ppt, pdf) files is included they are saved in the zip-file as well.

I don't know of any official spec for the osz-file, so I hope this helps a bit. You should probably just create a file in OpenLP, unzip it and look at the content.

@Madasamy - Your app is great! If you can make it possible to create a OSZ file on Android and push it to a Dropbox folder that would be even greater.

I saw you are using the concept of 'favourite lists' instead OSZ in your APP. Do you plan to add the OSZ creation feature later?

@GermanGospel, Yes we have plan to support OSZ in our app.

@Madasamy - The missing oszl support is the missing link for me. If this feature is included in your Android app, our Worship leaders could create the OpenLP song list for the service without the need to start the OpenLP desktop version! <span></span>

@tgc - The development to add support of osz(l) files to the "Worship Songs" app started again! :-) Can you say something about the "New service file format (faster loading of presentations from service file)" mentioned as a release highlight in the OpenLP 2.9.1 aka 3.0 Alpha 2 release?

@GermanGospel I'm pretty sure that's just OpenLP internal stuff, the service file format is the same.
