Possibly easier way (and perhaps easier for your congregation to read) would be to write 'suff'ring'. Personally, I wouldn't bother with either, as unless it's a weird contraction, most people would probably sing it as such anyway (in fact, I've had cases, though I can't think of any of the top of my head!) where songs that do use all three syllables confuse the congregation more!<br><br>(I do realise that this is one of those things down to personal preference, but I would perhaps suggest that the purpose of any word projection software is to make it easier to the congregation, and perhaps putting slurs under words on the screen wouldn't do so - I can't think of any modern hymnbooks that would do this, or even any older ones to be honest!)<br>
