Hi, we use the android app every Sunday for our services. We've done this for four years now and it works really well. There are moments when it stutters and the operator has a panic as they look for their place. We have a slide (sermon translation) that is over 40 pages long and it is easy to get lost.
So I thought I'd give the alpha of version two a whirl. Here are my first impressions.
Would love for the home screen to have some actual purpose rather than being blank. Maybe service view or a menu.
On live view on my Galaxy Note 4 I have the service contents on one side and the live item on the other side of the screen in two columns. I prefer to have only the live item as in the past because the column is so narrow it is not only hard to read, but one slide fills the whole screen. I see why you recommend a tablet. But I could live with that if it was easier to go to the next page. We used to have an arrow we could tap. Is it gone or merely hidden? So I had to scroll and tap. Scroll and tap. And then I was lost already because it is so hard to see more than one page.
What would work better for us would be one column and a forward/back mechanism. I see your logic in having it all on one screen, but I found it hard in real use. Maybe for short slides with short pages it isn't a problem on a tablet.
On the plus side it was smooth and didn't crash. Looks good.
Looking forward to seeing how you continue to develop the app. Like I said, we use it every week and couldn't easily do without it.
Thank you for creating it and improving it.
