Dual Monitor Setup

I have just recently download and installed this software on my laptop because I use it for multimedia purp ( using oses for our church servive.With the dual monitor setup is there a way in which the projection screen ( we have projector ) shows the "live" images only and the laptop shows the operator the Sunday Worship arrangement only.We have tried but unsuccessful.Can anyone help please.

If I am guessing correctly, you see both screens to be the same: your laptop screen and the projector screen?
Depends on the laptop you are using, you should press Function (Fn) key concurrently with another function key (F3, F4, F5, F6 ..?) to EXTEND display.  Do not use CLONE or DUPLICATE or PROJECTOR ONLY.  Use EXTEND mode.

Please explain what you see on both screens so we can assist you better.

Another thing to note.
You should connect the VGA cable to the laptop BEFORE you launch OpenLP.
That is, connect your projector, setup EXTEND mode for your screens, then launch OpenLP.

Some older laptops with VGA out, hooking up the monitor before you turn on the laptop to begin with saves a lot of headache.

After you get the second display as an extension instead of duplicate, in the Options for OpenLP, you can choose 2nd Display for your Live display.  You can also change the control side to by changing the view mode but I leave mine in setup mode so I can more easily add Bible verses when the preacher rambles them off without giving them to me in advance.

I downloaded the latest version of the OpenLP and installed it into my Laptop (Windows 8.1). When i launch the application (OpenLP), it refuse to see my projector (I connected the projector to my Laptop using VGA cable). Please help.

Does the projector show a clone of the desktop by any chance? You must extend the desktop for OpenLP to work.

Try @raoul suggestion, but it will really depend on your laptop if it will work or not.

Hello,

Once you have configured the projector as 2nd extended monitor, you also have to modify the following OpenLP setting :
OpenLP Configuration window > General > Select monitor for output display > Select "screen 2" (your projector)

If you don't make this setting, the live will be every time on the main monitor...
