As to the why, my community was running LYRIX, with an LED display board, to display lyrics for our praise and worship, notices, etc. The LED display has died, and the computer it was being managed from, was limping along. Neither are worth fixing.

Currently we are using the Pastor's Laptop, on which he has OpenSong, and a 800x600 video projector, which was cheap enough, and had the required brightness for our church, tho small, is not well, orientated for video projection, Sun shines in the windows at the wrong angles.

I am running OpenLP and FreeWorship, ( Share Lyric Format ) on the WINXP, audio recording computer in a test configuration, my preferred program for this purpose, being OpenLP, as it can be run on Linux, ( Free and absolutely reliable ) and hopefully, an acceptable platform of a Raspberry Pi 2 B - local screen being via TightVNC on the audio computer, or a Tablet.

The lyrics, exported from LYRIX, are fortunately in text format, and that is where, the fortune ends.

Below is a typical, file.

A001 is the file name, i.e. A001.txt
Second line is the title.

Any help, in scripting, a conversion utility, to get the numerous lyrics, into OpenLP format, with as little pain/effort as possible, appreciated. Including, getting each file, named, by title, and not what was a LYRIX index number (?).

Many thanks.

-------------------
A001
ALL WHO ARE THIRSTY
-------------------

1.
