Font - 'Kruti Dev 010', used for Hindi Language is not working with OpenLP

At my church we are migrating from Easy Worship 2009 to OpenLP as we are upgrading the system and Easy Worship 2009 won't be compatible with it. Before doing so we were exploring OpenLP on the current system which has Windows 7. We imported our song library from Easy Worship song database. The whole process of importing and setting up OpenLP was very smooth which we really appreciate. After this I created a new theme with the font mentioned in the title as most of our songs are in hindi and applied it to the songs.

The only problem we are facing right now is that the font is not working on any screen i.e preview, edit or live. I've tried the same thing on ubuntu as well but with same results. The font seems to be working fine on text editors word and LibreOffice Writer. Other fonts are working fine. I'm attaching images for the same. Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Can anyone please reply on this? It will be of great help.
  • Hi James,

I'm afraid I don't have an answer for you. OpenLP doesn't do any direct font implementation, it just relies on the operating system and the like for rendering. On your Ubuntu system, run OpenLP from the terminal, and see if you see any output there related to fonts.

Also, can you upload a song that you're trying to display? I am only fluent in languages based on the Latin character set, so I can't make songs in Hindi. If I can figure out how to reproduce what you've got here, I might be able to figure out what the problem is.
