robbiejackson Hi, I'm interesting in contributing towards the development of openlp, and was wanting to find out how best to get involved. If you could use more help could you let me know? Happy New Year by the way! Regards Robbie Jackson
raoul robbiejackson Hi, I'm interesting in contributing towards the development of openlp, and was wanting to find out how best to get involved. If you could use more help could you let me know? Happy New Year by the way! Regards Robbie JacksonHi @robbiejackson !https://gitlab.com/openlp/wiki/-/wikis/Development/Getting_StartedThat should get you started.
JohnM @robbiejackson Take a look at the official website, https://openlp.org/ part way down the page is some links that should help you get involved.
robbiejackson Thanks for the response. So far I've gone through the Getting_Started material you mentioned, and have been familiarising myself with Qt and PyQt. I've got the main program code forked and running on my PC and am just starting to go through it with Eclipse to try and match up functionality with the main sections of code.
raoul Hey @robbiejackson you might find PyCharm easier to work with than Eclipse. I'm not sure how good Eclipse's Python support is, and PyCharm has an open source community edition.
robbiejackson Hi @raoul I installed pycharm and quite like it. I've gone through the main openlp program at a high level and feel comfortable enough to start contributing. Do you have a chat room or such like where you decide who does what?
robbiejackson Hi, can anyone else answer my question about getting involved further? I'm going to need a bit of help to progress from here! Thanks
JohnM @robbiejackson there is a chat room the developers are in, https://webchat.freenode.net/#openlp. You can also look through the issues on gitlab, https://gitlab.com/openlp/openlp/-/issues. Your already on the forum where users are seeking help, it never hurts to answer what you can on the forum.
