thousandbuckle I just installed the latest version of openlp 1.0.1. When I run the aplication I receive a "Runtime Error 217 at 00556CC6" and the windows bug report screen. I have reinstalled but same thing. Can some one help out with this issue? Really want to try it if I can get it to run.
raoul
Hi,

Please run through the Guide to Bug Reporting, and then get back to us with the the details necessary, so that we can help you further.

Thanks.

gushie
Examples of information we might find useful are:
Which version of windows are you running? Are you running as Administrator or a Limited user? Is there anything unusual about your computer in how it's setup that may help us etc
thousandbuckle
Windows XP Pro SP3

Administrator

Core 2 Duo

4GB

Nvidia GForce 7950

Sata II 160GB HD

Nothing unusual about the computer in its setup.

Problem is very repeatable.

paddy2706 is the location of that error e.g. 00556CC6 always the same or does it differ?

something seems to go wrong before the actual application initializes
as the faq (see http://www.delphifaq.com/faq/f84.shtml) states:

Some typical situations where this can happen:

* unexpected date formats
* disk or registry accesses where the user has not sufficient privileges
* BDE Net Dir mismatches

does openlp.exe have access to all files in its program directory? e.g. sqlite.dll and others?
thousandbuckle
Yes, I receive the same for the same location block "00556CC6" each time. It does not change.

Yes, openlp should have access to all parts of the registry. I am signed in under administrator.

paddy2706 Hey thousandbuckle

Thank you for your patience. Please download Dependency Walker from http://www.dependencywalker.com/ and run openlp from within it. When you're done, please save the result and send it to me. You will find my email address in your personal inbox.

Regards and have a blessed christmas eve,

Patrick
paddy2706
Hey thousandbuckle,

I checked your dependencywalker image but everything seems to be working fine. the warnings that appear just show that you are using windows xp and have ie7 installed. but since thats not an error - the problem seems to be located somewhere else.

since all file inclusions work fine, please again: check if your user has all rights to access the keys below HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\openlp.org. Sometimes even administrators don't have sufficient rights to certain parts of the registry.

Hope that helps.

Regards and have a good day ,

Patrick
