Ubuntu pulls from Debian unstable, so you'll only be able to get 3.0 in the next release of Ubuntu. Additionally, the Debian maintainer has not yet built the Debian package due to a dependency that is not yet updated. Once that is done, I'll upload the package file to our downloads server.
Can the PPA be updated to support version 3.0 and the latest Ubuntu LTS? Right now, it's only got up to version 2.4.6 and only supports up to Ubuntu 19.10. I use Linux Mint, which bases itself on Ubuntu's current 22.04 LTS version (many distros do this). The next Ubuntu LTS rebase for Linux Mint will be sometime around June of 2024. This means that if 3.0 will be released in the next Ubuntu version, anyone who uses Ubuntu's LTS or any distro based on it will have to wait until mid-2024 before we can get access to a version 3.0 packaged for our distro. Updating the PPA would help greatly!
