I really want this on my mac so that i can work on arrangements from home. Please can some one explain to me how to do this. I would be very grateful is someone had It already compiled.
OpenLP v1.2 is a Windows only application, so the only way you can use it on a Mac is if you can get it running under some form of Windows emulation (e.g. wine).
However you'll probably be on your own trying to do this I'm afraid. It does run under Wine on Linux, but I don't know whether anyone has had it running on OSX.
Version 2 however is multi-platform and so the plan is for this to work on Mac. We're always happy for new volunteers to help test it, more details on the wiki.
v2 is still in a pre alpha stage but having said that many parts are fully usable and awaiting testing. We have had one user who has it working on a Mac and gave us useful feed back.
If you can help, the sooner we can get in to a position to release v2.
I have a Mac Pro at home and I'd be interested in testing it out for you guys. Is everything done on v2 pre alpha compatible with v 1.2 so i can export to my tech guy at church?
No. 1.2 and 2.0 are not compatible. This is because there are a number of enhancements in 2.0 that were not possible in 1.2.
We will be providing a means to upgrade your existing 1.2 database to 2.0 format in future, but we don't have such a facility at the moment (other than a Python script that pretty much only works on Linux at the moment).
I have a Macbook running 10.5.8 Leopard, and have installed openlp.org using Wine. The program works wonderfully, except for multi-monitor support. This has to do with my x11 not being set up for dual monitors...any ideas on how to make x11 function in a dual monitor setup?

Good news I just installed openLP on my Mac useing WineBottler
http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/
I have not had a chance to try out multiple displays but it all seems to work just fine.
I also have not tried any of the extra utilities like bible importer but I will soon.
I am super excited about v2 any ideas on when it will be release and installable on Mac?
