Can anyone help me to import songs from a Text File with the following format?
Hi guys, can anyone help to import file from a standard text file into OpenLP. I have about 800 songs to import. At this moment I add them manually one by one, but it is going to take some time to do them all. There must be a faster way. The text file is currently in this format (I copied a small part to illustrate). I also added some comments in [] brackets.

1. Gee, Here, aan my woorde aandag, [Verse 1]
sodat U my versugting hoor;
ek lê dit biddend aan U voor.
U antwoord bly ek soggens afwag,

wie trots is sal verneder word,
U sal hom in die afgrond stort.

All the needed info is there, but there has to be a quicker way to get it into OpenLP. Are there any changes I must make to the text file to have it work? Or can someone tell me how to import this type of text file.

I haven't tried it, but OpenSong has a multi-purpose "OpenSong Import V1.3" on their download page: http://opensong.org/d/downloads
If you are able to convert them using this, you should then be able to convert the created OpenSong songs via the OpenLP import option.
Let us know how you get on.
i wrote a c# program that took a flat file just like the one u have that;
created an xml file with all songs in the flat file
as well as insert statements to place the songs into the openlp sql lite database with a blank author.
Its is however not production ready. If you send me your flat file, ill try to do it for you. tuju2@hotmail.com.
