Have you enabled presentations? First you need to enable the Presentations Plugin by going to Tools -> Plugin List, then select the Presentations Plugin and choose enable from the selection box. Then you need to go to Options -> Settings and click on the Presentations tab. Make sure that PowerPoint is checked.
I'm afraid there is currently no presentation support on Macs, we haven't yet been able to link up to OpenOffice Impress support on this platform. There are no plans to support PowerPoint on Mac, unless a Mac developer with PowerPoint turns up and offers to help!
We don't have any developers who use OS X, unfortunately, so our support for OS X is minimal. In addition to that, we don't know how to interface with Office for Mac, and the bridge used to connect to OpenOffice on OS X is old and broken, so for the moment presentations on OS X are not supported. We are looking to fix this, but without a Mac to develop on, it's a bit difficult.

I have the same problem, except on the Mac version. Any ideas?
