Hi again, sorry for the late response. I finally had time to look at this and install VideoPsalm. In my install all songbooks are json files. Are you running an older VideoPsalm version? If so try upgrading.
Hello. Thank you SO much for this wonderful software and forum. May God
bless you for that. I know this thread is old but wanted to pursue the
subject. I have VideoPsalm version 1.23 dated 11-9-2019. I would like to
be able to import songbooks and Bibles from VideoPsalm into OpenLP. I
am looking in the path C:\Users\Public\Documents\VideoPsalm\Songbooks.
The file extensions are definitely .vpc not .json. The Bibles are also
.vpc files. When I try to import into OpenLP it looks for .json files
and will not recognize the newer .vpc file format. Will this be fixed in
the next release of OpenLP?
Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I am attaching a Bible file. They too are vpc files. I tried a long shot and downloaded an old 2016 version of VideoPsalm hoping it might pull the older json versions of the files down. After uninstalling the the 1.23 version of VideoPsalm I installed the old 2016 version. I then went to C:\Users\Public\Documents\VideoPsalm\Bibles and the file format was still in the vpc format.
I was unable to upload it here so please visit this link for the vpc KJV Bible file.
Just had a quick look at the vpc file. It is a password protected zip file which contains a JSON file. I assume the songbooks are the same. So unless there is a way to know the password or convert the vpc into the know JSON format, there is not much that can be done... :-(
I've put a question to the Videopsalm people. My files are a mix of .json and .vpc, seemingly randomly assigned. I imagine the encryption protects missionaries in closed countries subject to scrutiny of their computers and downloads. I was completely wrong- VPC is a Compressed Videopsalm file - un-check compressed in the songbook's configuration, and it will save as a .json!
