Greetings one and all.
We are currently using SSPlus, version 5.3 or so. I'm terribly fond of the product, and am trying to not be terribly committed to it either! The one issue is that we do have a lot of time invested in the other software. We have over 800 songs in that particular format.
I've done some poking around in these forums and have not found much about conversions. I'm aware of the feature request forum for version 2.0, and aware of the "last stable version" offered.
I've downloaded the 1.2.8 and plan to install it and play this week. I'm looking forward to "talking" with several of you about your experiences and would love to hear from anyone who has converted from SongShowPlus to the OpenLP.org product.

Hi Dean,
As far as I'm aware V1.2.8 has very limited import feature. V2.0 has a larger range of import formats, however SongShowPlus is not currently one of them. It may be that in the future more formats are supported, but at the moment they are limited to the most popular programs, or the ones that the developers use/have used!

I've dowloaded the trial of SSP 7. Talk about complicated, its looks like you need a degree to opperate it! I've had a look at how the songs are stored, it looks as though they're stored in a way similar to annother program I've written a converter for, so I'm going to attempt to write one for SSP.
If you could help me, send the following to my address (phill[dot]ridout[at]googlemail[dot]com):
What platform (i.e. Windows or Mac) and version.
Version of SSP you're using.
5 songs that were installed allong with SSP (these should be in the SSP program folder)
5 songs that you have added to SSP (these should be located in 'My Documents') some that you have typed in, and others that you have downloaded if you use the Song Select service would be great.
Look forward to hearing from you!

Sorry about the "block" of text, I wrote that on my phone, and it obviously didnt put the new lines in! For readability I'll re format it below!

Dean,
I have just created an importer for SongShow Plus, this should appear in the weekely build when its nexxt built.
I've only been able to test it with SongShow Plus 7, so no gareentees that it works with your version, but if you're happy to give it a try, then hopefully I should be able to straighten out any kinks!

Having trouble finding the right encoding for some of our songs, possibly added by SS Version 8.5. If you want some of the files that fail just ask. Thanks for the effort!
Traceback (most recent call last):

struct.error: unpack requires a bytes object of length 4
Above is the Traceback info. I was importing a directory of Songshow format songs. Got 2% through the process and was presented with a "Character Encoding" dialog in which I choose Western, upon continuing the process I was presented this "Error Occurred" dialog. Attaching the song file, which from all indications, is the import that caused the error.
Hey @TheOrignl
I don't see the file? Can you try attaching it again?
Oops Sorry @raoul. Wrote that in the Error Occurred dialog and didn't have the email situation configured to send it, so had to paste it here. Do you have a email address for OLP I can send to?
sbsong extensions are not allowed here. I can rename the file to accommodate if you don't mind?

I believe the error dialog shows that e-mail address. I don't want to write it out here for fear of spam bots finding it, and filling our issue tracker with spam :-/
@raoul Here's the file. I gave it a .txt extension. BTW, I'm using OLP on Windows 10 Pro 21H2.
@raoul I am working through our library of songs importing them. There are several songs so far that are incurring import errors. I am collecting these songs in a directory and can get them to you in a zip archive for troubleshooting if you like?
