As was reported last year here: https://forums.openlp.org/discussion/2664/first-time-wizard-cant-detect-internet I am getting an error saying no network detected when running the First Time Wizard. That thread said it was a server issue. So I guess there is nothing I can do at this point except to wait until it's fixed?
Firstly, that forum post is from over a year ago, so I don't think it is related, and secondly, the server is up, so I'm not sure what your issue is. Have you gone through the Troubleshooting section in the manual? Do you have a log file?
I sent in a ticket raoul. From the openlp log file, it looks like it had trouble verifying the SSL certificate, of the openlp.org site, when retrieving the configuration file. Anyways, will let you get looking at it.
Just got your mail in our support system. I've tested the SSL certificate using an extensive testing suite, and apart from some minor issues that won't affect a browser or OpenLP, there's nothing wrong with our certificate. I'm not sure why you're getting this error.
I opened the url in the browser (firefox) just fine, so I'm not sure the reason either. Guess I'll work without the wizard. If you need anymore info to assist figuring this out, let me know.
It is also possible that your firewall or antivirus is blocking the internet for OpenLP. Windows firewall probably asked on first launch if you want to allow OpenLP, are you sure you did?
I'm almost confident that I plugged a hole through the firewall. I was using Windows Firewall in Windows 10. I added openlp to the firewall settings. I also tried turning off the firewall just in case.
I am a long time user of openlp. I just got a new system and reinstalling the programs, including openlp. So openlp is working perfectly fine other than this hiccup on installation.
I managed to download the portable version fine. I have installed the program without errors. I run the first time wizard and receive a network error. It tells me I have no internet connection but this is patently false. I have checked the firewall settings in Windows 10 Defender Firewall and OpenLP is listed with a tick in the checkbox for both Public and Private.
Has anyone in the community been able to sort out this problem which seems to be a relatively common issue.

Did a search on Launchpad and not seeing any bug similarly reported.
I'll go ahead and submit a ticket along with a log file.

Hopefully everything else works as expected!

Try visiting https://get.openlp.org in a Microsoft browser, like Edge. My guess is that you're running into this issue: https://openlp.org/blog/2017/02/20/windows-and-ssl
