I just upgraded to to 1.9.12 and everything seems to be working great so far. Thank you for the hard work!
However, I do have a question that I can't seem to find an answer to in the forums. Whenever I play a video in the "preview" section, I can see the video moving just fine. (No sound but I'm guessing that's meant to be that way since it's just a preview. Yet, when I play a video "live" the video plays fine (picture and sound) but there is no image in the "Live" section as there is when played in the "Preview" section. If I click on the picture of the "movie clapper" it will put a still image of the video playing in the "Live" section below it. Is this a possible "bug" or intended to be this way. I'm using "Webkit" as media player. Can't use VLC because tried it once and it totally messed my whole computer up so I won't even download it.
Here are two images showing you an example of what I'm talking about.

MrMatthew,
Have you tried playing videos with any other format? Possibly a .wmv .mpg, etc. I am wondering if this could be a codec issue. Could you give that a try and see if the issue persist?
Thanks
Wesley
Video uses a lot of computer resources, so pushing it out in two directions would mean dropped frames and less smoothness on the screen, it's actually better the way it is.....
wogster
Possibly so, but on my install I can watch video in both places.
Wesley
Thanks for the quick response.
I have tried several other formats....mov, wmv, mpg, avi...etc...and the same thing happens. Tried rebooting PC and still same results.
I have K-Lite Codec pack installed too.
It's not a huge deal but it is nice to look at the PC instead of the screen because I will often pause several times during a video.

My use of OpenLP on Windows is extremely limited so I'm not very sure where to go next. I would suggest possibly trying Phonon as the player. It could totally mess everything up but worse you would have to do is switch back. I will check with some other testers/developers who use Windows and see if they have any ideas.
Thanks
Wesley
Well... after checking I may be wrong I will check and make sure things are working as I thought in my install tonight.
After checking about this and then going home and checking... I was certainly wrong, I sure thought I remember that happening as you expected but it doesn't and isn't supposed at the moment. Sorry for building your hopes up!
Hello MrMatthew,
I hope I understand you correctly.
If you start play a video as preview, it will be played correctly in the preview area of the main window, but without sound!
- this is correct, because of you want to check a video in the preview it should not disturb the any running live items
If you start play a video as live, it will be played correctly at the live screen, but there is no video seen in the live area in the main window!?
- this matched the current implementation, because currently it is not possible to display a video in two windows at once.
Hi Rimach,
If I play a video "live" you can see the video playing on the "projector screen" but inside the software you do not see the video being played in the "live" section of the program. The cursor is moving but all you get is a black screen. (There is nothing in the "preview" section at all while doing this.) Like the picture I have posted at the link below.

Before upgrading, you could actually see the video playing in the"live" section of the program.
The preview section works fine.
Hi MrMatthew,
as I wrote above, this feature is currently not implemented. So for preview you have one widget with playing video in the preview section and for live you have the playing video currently only at the projector screen.
Maybe later on we can reactivate the playing of the video also in the live section.
Hi I have this same problem in the lastest issue. Any idea if it will be reinstated in the official release. If not is there a place I could get an earlier 2 release download.
Hi Robert,
We're not sure if this actually ever worked properly... all our downloads are hoasted on Source Forge see http://sourceforge.net/projects/openlp/files/openlp/ for all our previous releases. Be aware though that "downgrading" may corrupt your song database.
