One click in Service Manager to show object in preview?

Hi everybody in the OpenLP community,

We are migrating from from EasyWorship to OpenLP in my church; this works well but we are missing one feature that was available in EasyWorship, "automatic preview of songs/texts with a single click".

Desired functionality in OpenLP:

When you single-click (left mouse button) on a song/text in the Service Manager, the preview of the object is opened in "Preview". That way it is easy to have a look at things before sending them "Live".

I know that you can right-click in the Service Manager and select "Preview", but just a single left click would be more convenient I think. A double click could then send it to Live (as it works today).

Any ideas? Maybe this should be a feature request...?

yes, "automatic preview of songs/texts with a single click" is an good idea

for the preparation of a worship-service.

Raoul, we can indeed preview items from the media manager with a single click but not items from the service. At least that's how I understand the manual and a quick test confirmed this (although I didn't check on the latest version).

Yes the feature to single click preview items from the service itself is something I've long wanted, but never got around to implementing. It would be a valid feature request in my opinion.

I know this is not quite what you requested, but have a look at "Automatically preview next service item" on the general tab. http://manual.openlp.org/configure.html#application-settings

Thanks for all comments, please advise how I can add this as an feature request, is there a system where it should be registered? Or maybe only registered developers can add feature requests?

I think you need to go to http://launchpad.net/openlp, create an account and register your feature request or bug. Not sure if you need to be validated by the dev team.

There's already a related feature request that suggests using a middle click to preview items.
