I have used this pedal: http://www.pageflip.com/pageflipFirefly.html with my Mac running OpenLP with great success - playing guitar/singing and using the pedal to switch the slides back and forth.
I should have the AirTurn pedal tomorrow and will try it out. I bought a Wireless Presenter (remote clicker) and tried that and it works flawlessly. I'm hoping that the AirTurn and the remote clicker will work at the same time. I am a priest and at points in the service (when I'm celebrating the Eucharist) I won't have my hands free to use the remote clicker so I'll use the pedal. I'll report back on how it works.
The AirTurn pedal just arrived. I opened it turned it on, paired it with my PC (Windows 10), opened OpenLP and started the service. the pedal worked right out of the box flawlessly. It also works with the remote clicker.
I am excited!!!!! Both the pedal and the clicker work together so I can use them interchangeably to change slides.
Been using both the AirTurn pedal and the Targus wireless presenter with OpenLP for several Sundays now and they work great. The only issue that I've noticed is that the Targus wireless presenter will sometimes advance more than one slide with a click. Almost like it's reading as 2 or more clicks instead of one by the computer. It doesn't happen often but enough that I have to pay attention to make sure it doesn't. The AirTurn pedal has a feature that prevents this from happening. I've considered just purchasing 1 or 2 more pedals to use rather than the clicker.
It can emulate the standard PowerPoint keyboard keys, control the mouse pointer, and has a green laser pointer instead of more classical red colored ones.
Other controllers will do, notably Logitech or other brands.
We had a Targus remote, but its buttons were sometimes not so precise, this is why we switched to the Kensington one.
The following model also has good reviews on amazon, but I haven't tested it myself:
